Mini for a month and other milestone's

mini for a month
This month, well, actually for the next 30 days, I get to drive one of the company Mini's as a reward for work well done. They pay the gas for commuting, and at over $3.50 a gallon, it is a treat! I was pretty stoked after being one of 2 people chosen to drive one of the available Mini Cooper's for the month. woo hoo!

These past few days have brought other small milestones into my life. Just yesterday (Friday), we went to an offsite team building exercise. We had decided that paintball would be a great way to have fun while forming good communication, including tactical moves. All said and done, it was a lot of shoot the other team before they shoot you. I ended up with a big bruise on my neck, which when I got shot, really didnt hurt as much as it looked like it hurt. We played 6 games in all, and went through 10,000 rounds of ammo. (it goes a lot faster then you think) The most painful hit was on my thigh, as seen here .....
yes, it smarted It smarted for a while after getting hit.
you would be amazed at the work out you get, just squatting and crawling around on the floor hiding behind bunkers. At the end of the 2 hours, my quads were shaking.

Today I was a tad bit sore from all the squatting I did, so I thought riding my bike might work out some of the stiffness and pain. I took my bike to my normal trail and rode down to Lexington reservoir. I finally made it up the dam. For 3 years I have been trying to ride up the paved hill of the dam, and only get part of the way up, before I have to walk my bike up the rest of the way. But today I was feeling masochistic and thought I would make myself ride up that hill. Now granted, I did have to stop and regain my breath a couple of times, but I got back on the bike and rode to the top. I did not walk that bike at all, and I finally did it. I was so elated I could have screamed. (I didn't though, not wanting to alarm the other trail users) When I got home, and sat in the warm sun to rest, I found myself quite sore, and now feeling the lactic acid in my muscles start to kick my ass. I tried to stretch, but it hurt, so maybe tomorrow, I will just go for a small hike, get the muscles warm and really stretch when I am done.
